Los Vecinos
Roughly translating to “The Neighbours”, Los Vecinos was a combined effort between us and Diego Campos (Diamante). It stemmed from the need for us to have more volume of medium bodied coffee with slightly less complexity. So Diego being the great guy he is, went to all the neighbouring farms in El Pital, Huila telling them he’d have a buyer - Commonfolk. Don Elias (Finca Tamana) and Diego would then cup each harvest and profile of these coffees to make sure they were up to scratch, and what we were looking for, leading to them purchasing the parchment (coffee beans before being hulled), at a competitive rate for us to import. With transparency in mind, this was going to be the washed component in our Godfather blend and not singled out. However, we were so blown away with how well this coffee roasted it would have been a disservice to our partners and now their partners to not allow you to drink it on its own. With its super clean profile and how easy it is to brew, you’ll get notes of jaffa cake tang with some caramel & milk chocolate sweetness. This coffee was imported by us with help from our old pal Jordy, and his new pals at Osito.
Make sure to give it a try in both espresso and filter.
