Sunrise Wanderers

Sunrise Wanderers

Respectfully wandering on the traditional lands of the Boon Wurrung & Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation. Established in Mount Martha in April 2023, The Wanderers are local men across the generations that gather one Sunday a month in local communities to wander together at sunrise, followed by a coffee together.

So why do we wander?
To connect with others and across different generations, to share a laugh or bond over shared experiences. It feels like a big warm hug and it can be pure magic. To others it’s an opportunity to connect with the community we live in, to build friendships and mateships, a chance to support local men & to create memories together. It can give us strength to tackle the week ahead, it can be a sanctuary or a moment away from the chaos & stress of life. But to all of us, it’s an opportunity to stop and be grateful for where we are and who we’re with. Come and wander with us, bring a friend if you like or come on your own. Whatever feels right for you, is right for us, all will be made most welcome.

Details of our monthly wanders in your local community can be found here www.sunrisewanderers.com.au If supporting your local community is important to you, you can feel good knowing that all proceeds from this bag of coffee are donated to ‘The Cup That Counts’ and Homeground cafe in Mornington. Homeground is a wonderful local initiative providing on-the-job training & employment pathways for young people in our community.

This unique micro lot is sourced from our long term partners, Zukuka Bora. A very special washed coffee from the Bukhanakwa farming group. Nestled high up on the southern ridge of Mt Elgon, Bukhanakwa is one of Zukuka Bora’s most remote farming communities. Local workers are paid to ‘wander’ at 2200+ metres above sea level through rainforest between the Bukhanakwa community and Zukuka’s Wanale washing station, porting 50kg of coffee cherries at a time.

Zukuka Bora has been investing in the lives of over 1700+ coffee farmers in Uganda since 2014, and like HomeGround, is another incredible project supported by The Cup That Counts and Commonfolk’s commitment to a coffee industry that’s fair for everyone involved.
