Practically spreadable, this cheeky number from the Nyakabugi Farmer’s Cooperative Society has all the jammy and winey layers we expect from Kenyan specialty coffee. Kiambu County is next door to Kenya’s capital Nairobi and host to the town of Ruiru and its coffee research station, responsible for developing the coffee berry disease (CBD) resistant Ruiru 11 varietal. Mix the Ruiru 11 with the famed SL28 and SL34 varietals known for their exceptional cup quality and we’re making Jam. In true processing style, select ripe cherries were pulped and washed before time under the East African sun on raised drying tables. Get ready for red grape and berry flavours, with a mouthful of sparkles and syrupy feels. Thanks to our friends at First Crop for responsibly sourcing and importing this coffee.
